Charging Loaned Chromebooks

Here are some charging guidelines to help you charge your District-issued chrome devices at home. Please note, for best results, devices should be charged with the District provided charger, the device lid should be closed and Chromebook powered off.

Average Charging Times -

45 Watt USB Charger/Adapter – 2-3 hours

10 Watt (ipad charging brick with provided district cable) – 8-12 hours*

18 Watt (iPhone 11 and later model Android charger) 4-6 hours

5 Watt (iPhone, android phone charger) – 16-24 hours*

* Using a 10Watt or lower power brick will show a “LOW POWER CHARGER” message if the device is on and the screen/lid is open. Make sure to power off your device and close the lid when charging.

Once Chromebooks are fully charged, with all day use, they should only need to be charged every other day depending on use.
